Maple Sugar

Taylor Brothers Sugarhouse

Taylor Brothers Sugarhouse got its start in the 1970s when Jim, Bill and Rob Taylor were youngsters working on their family’s dairy farm. For fun, they tapped some maple trees in the neighborhood, borrowed an old canning pot from their mother, built an arch of concrete blocks and went into the syrup business.

Gradually they increased the number of trees and upgraded their equipment, and through their college years developed a passion for making high quality syrup and other maple products. The operation expanded significantly in 1992 when they added a sugarbush nearby that is part of a large managed forest and invested in the new equipment needed to handle the far-larger volume of sap to be processed into syrup.

Polly's Pancake Parlor

Polly's is northern New England distilled to its sweetest essence: stone-ground wholewheat, buckwheat, and cornmeal pancakes, served with country sausage or cob-smoked bacon, and a tray of maple toppings in burnished pewter pots - fancy grade syrup, granulated maple sugar, and thick maple spread.

Parkers Maple Barn has been a family establishment since the late 1960`s. It began with nothing more than a small Sugar House by the original Parker family and has grown to become a very popular country restaurant serving hearty breakfasts and lunch. The Corn-Crib gift shop features all of our maple products along with many unique gifts like our maple syrup gift baskets and maple syrup tins. The Sugar House still produces maple syrup following the old tradition of wood-fired evaporators.
